PES image Format (PES-Image File Format) is an embroidery file created from lines of code encoded with PES software that later gets transformed into an embroidery base image used by machines for design placement on various media. It belongs to Computer Aided Manufacturing or CAM and utilizes various codes that control skipping or stopping processes as well as colors provided by machine software.
Converting JPG files to PES requires complex processes that should only be undertaken by professional digitizing agencies for which there is a small fee. While software programs claim they provide similar services, their quality cannot match that of qualified digitizers and therefore should never be considered for professional purposes.
Users wishing to open a PES file require an embroidery editing program compatible with PES files; such as Wilcom TrueSizer, PE-Design or Melco EP4. Using one of these programs allows users to edit designs by resizing, rotating, adding text, merging designs together or splitting designs and changing thread sizes, colors and thread types as necessary.
PES files consist of two components - the PES part and PEC part. The former contains embroidery machine commands that can be read by Brother PE-Design and similar applications while PEC stands for standard block of information; some versions of a PES file may contain extra information in form of non-standard PEC blocks.
Upload a file, click "Convert", and use additional options to quickly modify its contents before downloading the final PES file after processing has completed.
