RLA (Run-Length Encoded, version A) image files were developed by Wavefront specifically for use with their Advanced Visualize animation software suite. As well as bitmap images, these files also store multichannel rendered image data as well as time-lapse video sequences.
An RLA file comprises of a 740 byte header, followed by a table of scan line offsets and then, finally, run-length encoded pixel data. Each pixel in run-length encoded format represents bytes representing its respective pixels - each encoded value prefixed with two 2-byte counts to indicate how many bytes of image data follow it.
Both RLA and RLB formats store images in big-endian byte order, and floating-point data is represented as ASCII strings to avoid machine-dependent representations of this type of information. Furthermore, null character fields are represented using ASCII 0.
Upload a file, click "Convert", and use additional options to quickly modify its contents before downloading the final RLA file after processing has completed.
Our RLA converter works on Windows, Mac OS, Linux, iOS and Android systems alike - our servers automatically process each file without requiring you to install plug-ins or applications!
We guarantee 100% of the privacy and have no access to your files once uploaded/converted, making them inaccessible by anyone and completely protecting them.
