The WEBP image format, developed by Google in 2010, is a format that allows users to store images in two compression sizes – both “lossy” and “lossless.” Google developers claim that compression efficiency allows images to be compressed up to 34% smaller than JPEG and PNG images while maintaining high quality. WEBP images require less storage capacity and allows websites to display a large number of images at faster speeds. WEBP files become compressed by a predictive process. This technique “predicts” pixels based on the surrounding blocks, allowing you to reduce the size of the image file. WEBP files support animations, ICC profiles, XMP metadata and large images with up to 16384x16384 tiles and can be opened by: Adobe Photoshop, Google Chrome and Picasa.
Enter a file, then click “Convert.” The additional options can be used to alter a file. Download the resulting WEBP file after processing.
All operating systems, including Windows, Mac OS, Linux, iOS, and Android, can use the converter. Our servers process each and every file. You don't need to install any plug-ins or applications.
After twenty-four hours, we instantly delete your uploaded and/or converted files. Your privacy is guaranteed 100%, and no one has access to your information.
