What Is CAF Audio File? Apple Inc. developed Core Audio Format (CAF), an audio container format designed for efficient delivery, storage and playback of audio data. CAF overcomes limitations associated with older digital audio formats like AIFF and WAV by employing an efficient 64-bit file structure with uncompressed audio data chunks stored separately as uncompressed chunks, along with supporting additional information such as text annotations, captions and markers.
