    ZIP

ZIP files can be easily opened on all types of computers, from Windows PCs and laptops running Windows OS (such as Microsoft Vista) to Macs running macOS (assuming they were released post-1998). When receiving one as an email attachment on either desktop or laptop computer, simply use its built-in Archive Manager to open it; for password protected ZIPs you will require third party apps instead. To create a ZIP file, first select all of the files or folders you would like included. On Mac computers this can be done by selecting them all within File Explorer, right-clicking one of them or choosing Action button from toolbar, then in menu that opens right click 'Compressed (zipped) Folder'; similar options are also available on Windows devices. Your resulting ZIP file will contain all items selected and named after the one right clicked upon - when done successfully it will also contain their full pathnames for ease. When clicking a ZIP link in a browser, Internet Explorer, Safari and Opera will prompt you to choose where on your computer to save the file; Firefox will save it by default to a standard location such as your desktop.
